Only the educated are free - Epictetus

1. Music

Most songs repeat the same four courts. Learn them and you can play 90% of songs.

Before singing hum. This is the level you should be singing at throughout the song.

When doing karaoke pick a song everyone can sing along to (500 miles). The IKEA effect will take place (People put a higher value on things they contribute to) and you'll be seen as a much better singer than you are.

What's repeated, becomes true. Watch what music you listen to, sing depressing lyrics all day and it won't be long till you're depressed. Angry songs will lead to you becoming an angry person ect.

Dance. A few minutes dancing, every day will quickly lead to a happier life.

2. Art

Golden ratio. Position objects on these lines to make a much more aesthetically pleasing piece.

Restraints. Art works best when you place limits.

It's not for everyone. Aim to please a small set of people.

Rubbish - Look around museums and you'll soon find artwork that you consider rubbish. This rubbish artwork is selling for millions. If they can do it. So can you.

Business.focus on how to sell artwork.

Etsy.set a project too make and sell something on Etsy.

Merch.  Make a print and put it on merch.

Artbook.  Combine your work into a book.

Art class seemed to be a skive for the less talented and practice for the talented with real insight from the teacher.even then not many Go on to use art once they left.

3. Maths

Learn how to read data. Many problems are based on misinterpreting data. I recommend the book 'Factfullness.'

Program. Programming puts more complicated mathematics to use.

Life/Business.  Learn how to do taxes, profits, stock control ect.  This is about as complex as maths should get for most people.

Asians learn mathematics quicker, as the numbers are much easier to say than in English eg. seven (Eng) chi(Chinese). seventeen (Eng) shi chi (Chinese, 10, 7). Having a head start right from the beginning allows them to focus on the harder stuff at an earlier age.

4. Language

Focus on conversations. This is what you're learning for.

Chunking. Instead of learning 'apple' learn 'I like apples'. they're stored the same, but one sounds far more impressive.

Linking. Always link new language back to something you have previously learnt. This makes remembering them much easier. More about linking here

5. Cooking

Chopping.

Onions/Garlic base. Most dishes start this way. Learn how to do this and your off to a great start.

Herbs/Spices. Learn what works well together. You don't need much to turn a dish from a 4/10 to a 8/10.

Stocks. The right stock(s) can move that 8/10 to a 10/10

Pasta. Rice. Learn to cook these and you've got cheep healthy meals whenever you need them.

Potatoes. Boil your potatoes separately before adding to your dish. This softens them up and gets rid of the starch.

6. P.E

Martial Arts. Learn how to defend yourself and you'll become more confident and more discipline.

Health. Learn to stay healthy. Not to be the best on the team.

Skateboarding. It was never an option where I grew up, but I think a lot of the kids that disliked PE would happily do it if they could skate.

7. Philosophy

Seek out quotes you like.

Write your own rules. Amend as you grow.

How should you act?

How should you think?

What is wisdom?

This will help cure the mental health crisis, which in turn will reduce crime.

8. Physics

Physics is the building blocks of the universe.

Programming allows you to create you're own universe.

See what happens when you tweak gravity. See the effect of collisions at different speeds ect.

9. Tech

3D modelling. Build your own products.tables ,chairs, toys ect.

For more complex model's such as bridges the software could use physics to see if a structure will hold with collapsing.

Lego.  For younger ages get them too build products with Lego.  Play game's with Lego making them make towers, bridges, boat's ect.  Great way to activate the creative mind.

10. Public Speaking

You get talk's in English/language classes, but it's not quite the same.a dedicated class on how to delever a great talk would be really useful.especially for shy kids.

Comedy.  Write a few jokes and perform to the class.

PowerPoint.  Make a presentation and educate the class.

Ted talks.  Review some of the beat.

11. Film

With the rise of online video platforms it makes no sense why this isn't already a mandatory class.

Teach how to film, act, write scripts, edit ect.teach how to animation.teach how to promote your videos.

Every kid want's to be a content creator.  This could be the most popular and most useful class

12. AI

How to use AI.  How to prompt.  What ones work beat too solve your problems.  How too use it too help with other classes.  Ect.

They'll teach themselves regardless, but if you're aware and Push it they'll move forward much faster.

* Unrelated to school, but it was such a good idea that I wanted to share before I forgot.  What if phone's had an ai that detected negative self talk and then promoted better ways of speaking/provided step's to help solve your problems.for example -you post on Facebook 'noone likes me.  You all hate me 😭'. The AI picks up the negative talk and prompts you to use 'what should I do to make more friends? then provided you with some prompts -use people's names, listen twice as much as you speak.make others feel happy ect.random thought, but I really think this could help reduce mental health problems by a huge amount,in no time.

13. Book Writing

You learn a lot through the process.

Simplifying sentences.

Being precise in your speech.

How to format.

What makes an engaging book.

How to market.

The process of simplifying sentences also helps with your own thinking.making it faster and less cluttered.

* The Rocco Effect Books

  1. The Rocco Effect: Set 1
  2. The Rocco Effect - ?
  3. The Rocco Effect - Set 2

14. Therapy

What are the most common reasons people go?  What are the solutions?

What if there was a class dedicated to teaching you how to avoid these problems in the first place? relationship's would improve. less violence. less crime's.  A happier population.  This one is a no brainer.  This will change lives more than any other subject.

* I think philosophy class will solve the same problems, but just incase.

15. Portfolio Building

What if you had an app with all your skills/akomplishments and talent's.imagine it was an interactive CV.

You have photo's of your best artwork. links to your online stores.

Videos of your presentations ect.

By the time you leave school you have a collection of all you can do.

Send that to Jobs, instead of a CV and they get a much better insight into who you are.

16. Mental Models

Better ways of thinking.  I also recommend 'loserthink' by Scott Adams to help prevent bad ways of thinking.

17. History

Make Tests bases around how you could use what you learn in history to help improve the world today/prevent a similar disaster.  I was never a fan of history as it was just boring stories.a focus on taking lessons from them would have gained more of my attention.

Your Thoughts

What subjects should be in schools?

How should they be taught?

What would you add to my list?

Thanks again for reading.  See you tomorrow
